I’m Jeff Proffitt and I believe our kids should come first. That’s why I’m running for Clark County School District Board of Trustees, District B.

I am a native Las Vegan and business manager of Sheet Metal Workers Local 88 in District B. My roots in Southern Nevada run deep. I was born at Women’s Hospital and attended CCSD schools, graduating from Eldorado High School in 1992. As a resident of Moapa Valley, I support and understand the challenges of rural and urban schools alike. My wife is a CCSD special education teacher, and our three children are all current or former students of District B.

Prior to my current position, I served as training director for the Sheet Metal Workers Local 88 Training Center, a comprehensive four-year educational apprenticeship program that provides full-ride scholarships to its students and produces job-ready workers skilled in math, computers and spatial relationships. Our graduates have helped build and repair Las Vegas from the ground up. With my construction background, I can help identify and eliminate waste in our school system.

My platform is straightforward and comes from the heart:
  • Equal access to education for every student
  • Fair representation for rural areas
  • Support for working families
  • Reduction of construction waste
The more parents are involved with their children’s education, the more successful CCSD will be and the more successful our community will be. It is the job of CCSD to collaborate with our parents to achieve this goal.
